Update

Well keeping my mind off of things does not seem to be working... I cannot stop thinking about my daughter... she was my life and I miss her so much... I created a Picture DVD of some of my favorite photo's (black & white and some other stuff) to a great song that I listen to a lot by Nickelback called Far Away. Drop a line and let me know if you liked it... It just about killed me to make it... kept crying on the damn keyboard and such...

Other then that... not a whole lot going on right now... Having trouble sleeping have to drug myself and well it only goes down hill from there.

Bye Bye wife...

Well it finally happened... My wife has decided I am no longer required. This last Wednesday she left a note on my desk for me to come home to and was gone. I do not really have a lot to say on this subject right now... Just a heads up not to ask how my wife and kids are cause they have gone off into the night.

My New iBook

Well I have wanted an iBook for some time now and I finally got one. A friend of mine was looking to upgrade to the new MacBook and wanted to sell his old iBook G4 so I decided I would get it. I must say that so far I am very happy with it. Here are the specs: iBook G4 12" 800MHz, 640MB DDR 21oo Ram, 60GB HDD, Combo CD-RW/DVD. Here is a picture of the outside and then here is a screenshot.

Other then that not much to report. My wife is making a character sketch of my Halfling Fighter that I will be playing in the upcoming D&D Game. She is an awesome artist and amazes me still to this day. On that note we just last month celebrated out 2 year Aniversary for being married and 3 years of being together. Well the weekend is coming and it will be the first get together of me and my friends for a general computing/Dungeon & Dragons!

Well I am off to do something else... so as usual Happy Computing!

Time Flies...

Man I don't know about you guys but time has been flying by at even a faster rate then I would have thought possible. I feel like I cannot stay with it and feel like I am getting nothing done. Weeks seem to be going by like hours and no thats not a good thing.

Well I hope everyone is doing well. I have been playing again with Fedora Core went back to the x86 version as there was not that much of a speed increase... I mean there was one but not anything to shout about. I am glad to say that I will be starting to play D&D on a regular basis again! This is really good news as I have wanted to do this for some time and have not been able to.

I reinstalled the iMac tonight with three seperate partitions 1 for Mac OS X and 1 for Mac OS 9.2 and then a third for Fedora Core 5! I will be starting to download the 5 CD set of FC5 tonight so that I can install it on the iMac and see how it runs. I have never installed Linux on anything but i386 & AMD64 before so this should be interesting.

Well I guess that is all I have for now... Happy Computing!

Hey peeps sorry for not writing anything for so long but work has been nuts... I have worked for 12 days solid and it starting to drive my nuts. Other then that there is not much going on right now. I am still working on playing with Fedora Core x86_64 but because of working so much I have not had much time.

My wife is having the tubes tied on Friday so I will be watching my kids this weekend and am looking forward to it! I do hope to have some time to mess with the computers as well. I will do my best to keep all of my masses updated!

Up and running

Ok so I was going to do all this stuff about compairing the two in real time tests. Well I have decided to through that out the damn window cause I have better things to do. So I got the x86_64 install of FC5 done on my desktop and from starting the DVD install and updating just about every package on the damn thing it's taken about 4 hours. :(

But anyway there is a screenshot of top and uname and also disk full running so you can see some stats. Please keep in mind that I have not touched anything yet this is a fresh install so I will rope in the rouge services and that crap when it's not 1:34 AM. I am writting this on the new FC5 desktop though :)

Happy Computing... and good night!

Awesome Tag Line

Well I was over trolling the fedora forums (Check it out here) and found a post by a user calling himself Red_Dungeon and he had one of the greatest pro Linux lines I have ever heard. I know this is way off topic for the latest Fedora Core 5 64bit thing but hey I was doing research when I found it so there. Anyway here is the awesome tag line!

"LINUX - because booting is for adding hardware!"

That is Awesome!!!

Fedora Core 5 64bit vs. Fedora Core 5 32bit

Hello all,

Well I read a review of Fedora Core 5 back when it was in testing a couple of days ago and have since decided to test it out on my PC. I will post more information when I have it but I would like to mention a few things. First I decided that I am going to give 64bit computing a go for the first time in about 1 year. I tried it a long time ago and had a lot of trouble with it but things have come a long way since then.

This is my reason for testing FC5 as well cause the last time I touched Fedora was back in Core 1 release so I would like to see where it has gone in the last couple of years. So here is what I am going to do... I have loaded FC5 x86 version on the PC and will run several apps a couple of times to get some base numbers for compairing and then get the average for some of the apps that I use. I will then Install the 64bit edition and see what difference it makes for those apps as well as system boot speed and the like.

Let me know if there is any information that you would like to see in particular and as long as it doesn't involve to much time I can do that too. I will keep you all posted on what I find out through my exploration of FC5 and 64bit computing. Below is a link to the article that I read about FC5 that made me want to check it out.

Happy Computing!

Kirby

Well my wife got sucked into a demo of the Kirby vacuum and of course she decided to purchase it. I figured it has something to do with the "Cute Guy" that was selling it, but hey that's probably just me. So now that she bought the damn thing we have been cleaning non stop for two days now! I mean the house is cleaner now then it's ever been but I am not sure this is a good thing or not :)

But really it is a nice vacuum and it does work like nothing else I have ever seen. That being said it still does not make me sure that it's worth the outrageous price that they ask for the damn thing. Well anyway here's a pic of the all expensive vacuum.

Ok I am going to go and rest now...

Peace!

GnuPG

First let me say that in the links section at the bottom of my blog is my flickr site which has some cool pics of stuff and I will be adding more and more to it as time goes by so check it out.

So I am starting to use Gnu Privacy Guard because I would like to see people take a more active role in email based security especially in this day and age. So here is my GPG public key for anyone who wishes to send me encrypted email messages. Please send me your public key and I will use it to do the same for you. Below is a link to the mini howto for GnuPG so that you can get educated if need be.

First Post

Well this is my very first post. I hope to actually have some people look at my blog at some point. I don't have a lot to say right now but I am sure that I can come up with some crap later.
